Hypnos Coffee
Hypnos Coffee is a recent addition to the Williams Ave coffee scene in the NE. Despite having several coffee shops in close proximity, Hypnos rises above the competition to deliver one of the best experiences on the block. They opened in the summer of 2024 and have only gotten better with time.
Upon entering, the first thing you will notice is the minimal but stylish interior. It gives off a simple and upscale vibe while still feeling warm and welcoming with the help of the natural light, sleek furnishings, and gorgeous centerpiece flower bouquet. The staff are friendly and had no issues with us bringing our dog inside for the coffee date. Automatic extra points in our book.
We ordered an Americano with steamed soy and a seasonal special - bramble latte. Both were served in great cups and delicious. The bramble latte is made in-house with fresh blackberries and strawberries. The fresh fruit added a unique and subtle flavor that accentuated the espresso. That’s a key differentiator for us. Can you make a flavored latte that adds complexity and interest to the latte base without overpowering it or just making it taste overly sweet or artificial. Hypnos hits the mark. The classic americano was not to be out done by the specials. It was brewed to perfection - smooth and hot with a lovely layer of foam on top from the steamed soy.
We enjoyed our drinks at a table tucked back in the corner where Odin had room to lay down on the floor underneath the table and we could play our NYT games while enjoying our drinks. After we were done we stayed for awhile just enjoying good conversation, people watching, and relaxing in the nice ambiance of the space.
Overall we highly recommend this spot, and look forward to returning to try more of their seasonal and classic drinks.
